On February 28, 2009, a Georgian-Ukrainian team completed its first test flight as a part of the preparation program for the Black Sea Balloon Run.
The team commenced their flight on Kubicek BB42Z balloon in the region of Ulyanovka (Ukraine) in the direction of Kiev. The flight duration was 10 hours 29 minutes. The distance covered – 124.5 km. Maximum altitude - 4613 meters.
This flight set one national Ukrainian altitude record and two new national Georgian records - distance and time in the air.
